City and State Funding Awarded

The Salvadori Center was awarded two major grants from public agencies: $24,600 from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and $16,800 from the New York State Council on the Arts. These funds will support our flagship GLOBE program [Guided Learning through Our Built Environment], a three-year partnership between eight New York City public schools. At each GLOBE school, Salvadori educators work onsite mentoring teachers, modeling lessons and developing curriculum targeted to student needs. New York City Council Member Robert Jackson, chair of the Education Committee, earmarked $3,000 in city funds to support the Salvadori Center. We will use these monies to underwrite costs for teachers who work in schools and community centers in upper Manhattan represented by Jackson (District 7), to attend our professional development workshops.
