PERSPECTIVE #2: Linear Perspective Print a copy for class
	Linear perspective is a technique used in making pictures look realistic. Its rules were worked out in the Renaissance and they are based on how we actually perceive things in 3 dimensions with our visual system (our eyes and brain). The Italian artist Masaccio created a  fresco in 1425 depicting the Trinity in the Church of Santa Marcia Novella in Florence, Italy.  It is the oldest painting we know of that is considered to follow the rules of linear perspective almost perfectly.  The first book on perspective came ten years later in 1435.  It was De pictura by Alberti and people still read it today.
