Practical PD

In full- or half-day workshops offered through the Practical Professional Development program, Salvadori Senior Educators teach participants how to use the built environment as a resource for creating specific content curricula: from using bridges to teach math to using monuments and memorials to explore social studies.

Practical PD workshops are appropriate for teachers, administrators, curriculum specialists, and other school personnel. These offerings can also be targeted to out-of-school-time educators from community centers, museums, and camps.

Full-day workshops last five to six hours, while half-day programs are three hours long.  They can be designed as a distinct series targeted to your needs, or as a complement to Salvadori Institutes or workshops.  

Prices listed below are for programs for up to 15 participants, either at the Center’s offices or your location. Modest travel charges apply for programs outside New York City.

Cost:

• Full-day: $900
• Half-day: $500

Discounts available for a series of two or more full-day or half-day sessions.
