Professional Development: Teaching Mathematics through Structures that Surround Us
This professional development program is open to all teachers, public and private. Teachers will learn new ways to enliven their teaching practice through hands-on STEM based lessons and activities. Participants will earn three “P” credits (some restrictions apply) at no cost for each of the courses presented over the next three semesters. The program will take place on Saturdays from 9-3 on October 1, October 29, November 19, December 3 and December 17. Participants must attend all three semesters (FA 2011, SP 2012, FA 2012) to obtain “P” credits. You must also submit a completed application, a copy of your teacher license and a letter of recommendation from your principal. For application information, please contact Denise McNamara at dmcnama@schools.nyc.gov. If you have already taken the first year of this course, please contact thecenter@salvadori.org for year 2 program dates.
