The Salvadori Center’s GLOBE program (Guided Learning Through Our Built Environment) is a three-year partnership between the Center and selected New York City public schools.

Salvadori educators bring a rigorous, enjoyable, project-based curriculum to each selected school, by using the built environment to improve students’ knowledge of math, science, art, language, social studies, and technology.

Salvadori Center: LEAD (Learning through Engineering, Architecture and Design)

In the LEAD Program [Learning through Engineering, Architecture and Design], Salvadori educators come to your classroom to develop and co-teach projects based on the built environment that will engage and delight students.

LEAD provides an exciting 8-week Salvadori experience that includes a 2-hour professional development session, a 2-hour planning session, 8 classroom sessions, weekly planning meetings between educator and classroom teachers, and curriculum chosen from the topics below.

Salvadori Center: How to CharretteEach June, as a culminating activity for Salvadori schools, 100 students participate in an all-day design challenge held in the Great Hall of City College of New York. Working alongside professional architects and engineers, students conceptualize, design, build, and present models to their peers.

The challenges vary year to year, ranging from creating futuristic societies to redesigning a city block to an eco-village of tree houses.
